Black and White Art Care Guide:

Handle with Care: Graphite, graphite and charcoal, or charcoal pieces are generally not too finicky to store or frame. However, always handle your artwork by the edges with clean hands to avoid smudging or transfering oils from fingers.

Smudge Protection: The artwork is finished with a few coats of UV-resistant fixative to protect it from accidental smudges, especially on the white parts of the paper.

Charcoal Pieces: Charcoal pieces may require more attention when storing and framing as they can be prone to smudging. To combat this, use the provided specialized protective sheet for storage and framing.

Watercolor Paper: The artwork is created on high-quality watercolor paper, either 50% or 100% cotton. These papers may be prone to warping if exposed to humid or moist environments when left unframed.

Storage: To prevent warping, place the protective sheet on top of the artwork and sandwich it between two sheets of board. Keep the art flat, and you may place heavy items on top of the board to help keep it flat. Rolling is not recommended. Store in cool, dry environment.

Framing Recommendations: Frame your artwork under glass to protect it from dust, moisture, and physical contact. It may be framed flush against glass, although it is best to keep a small space between the glass and art by using thicker matting. Utilize the specialized protective sheet during the framing process, especially if the art needs to be placed upside down.

Smudge Removal: Should any incidents occur, use a kneadable eraser (resembles putty) to gently lift smudges.

Check Specific Descriptions: Some pieces may require different care depending on the combination of mediums used. Always refer to the specific piece’s description for tailored care recommendations.
